With nearly 20 years of experience by the time he landed in NXT, Bobby Roode planned to bring the brand to even greater heights. The Glorious One would battle with Tye Dillinger over a couple months before becoming the #1 contender for the NXT Championship. On January 28, 2017, at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, Bobby Roode would face Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT title and win. Bobby Roode became the oldest NXT Champion in WWE history with his win over Shinsuke Nakamura. At the time of this writing, Roode has held the title for 6 months with wins over the likes of Hideo Itami, Kassius Ohno, Roderick Strong, and Shinsuke Nakamura. With many successful title defenses and his always elegant entrances, Bobby Roode has established the Glorious Era of NXT.
